The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has pledged the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to combating insurgency and other security challenges both domestically and internationally.

During a Christmas luncheon with troops of the Joint Task Force Northwest Operation FANSAN YAMMA at Giginya Cantonment, Sokoto, on December 26, 2024, General Musa emphasized the core values of love, unity, and selflessness that define military service.

In a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Shittu, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 8 Division, the CDS lauded the troops’ sacrifices and dedication to safeguarding Nigeria’s peace and stability.

“Your daily commitment to duty, despite challenges, is a testament to true patriotism and inspires confidence in our collective ability to overcome threats to national security,” Musa said.

He highlighted recent successes, including the deployment of the Special Operations Brigade to neutralize terrorist camps in Sokoto and Kebbi states, as evidence of the military’s resolve to eliminate insecurity.

General Musa urged the troops to remain resolute in their duties, noting that 2025 presents a new opportunity to strengthen Nigeria’s security framework.

He expressed profound appreciation for their resilience and patriotism, encouraging them to continue exemplifying the Armed Forces’ ideals.
