The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Olatunji Disu, has undertaken an operational tour of major recreational centres in Abuja to bolster security during the festive season.

The inspection covered popular venues such as Millennium Park, Jabi Park, Lugbe Shoprite, and Magic Land Amusement Park, all of which attract large holiday crowds.

In a statement by the FCT Police Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the tour aimed to assess the deployment of security personnel and evaluate safety measures for residents and visitors.

CP Disu stressed the importance of a robust police presence during the season to deter crime and foster public confidence.

“Our priority is to create a secure environment for all to celebrate without fear. These measures are in place to ensure the safety of everyone during the festivities,” he said.

He also commended officers stationed at the centres for their dedication and urged them to remain vigilant and professional.

Visitors praised the visible police presence, describing it as reassuring during the busy holiday period.

The FCT Police Command called for public cooperation, urging citizens to report suspicious activities through its emergency hotlines to help maintain safety and order.
