The Kogi State Police Command has arrested Abdulmuqeet Musari for allegedly luring his 19-year-old friend, Usman Tijani, to a burial ground in Adavi Local Government Area, robbing him of ₦200,000, and slitting his throat.

The incident occurred on December 24, 2024. Tijani, a Point-of-Sale operator and a second-year Cybersecurity student at Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, was found critically injured and is undergoing surgery in Lokoja.

Zainab Avosuahu, a relative, revealed that Musari lured Tijani into the bush, stole his money, and attempted to kill him.

“This is a call for justice for my nephew, who was betrayed and nearly killed by his friend,” she said.

Musari fled the scene but was later apprehended in a neighboring community in Ekiti State by local vigilantes and security operatives.

Suleiman Acheneje, Senior Special Assistant to the Adavi LG Chairman, praised the swift action of the security forces, stating, “The suspect was tracked and arrested thanks to coordinated intelligence.”

Kogi Police Public Relations Officer, Williams Aya, confirmed Musari’s arrest and stated that he remains in custody pending arraignment after the conclusion of investigations.
