Civil society group Pro-Impact Initiative has condemned alleged attempts to tarnish the reputations of Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein, Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), and Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF).
The allegations follow President Bola Tinubu’s decision to allow the AGF to complete her tenure before appointing a successor.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, the group’s Coordinator, Dr. Osamudiamen Isokpehi, denounced the accusations as “calculated attempts to mislead the public and blackmail patriotic public servants for selfish interests.”
He criticized anonymous sources in recent reports, dismissing them as lacking credibility.
Dr. Isokpehi refuted claims about mandatory three-month pre-retirement leave, clarifying that the Public Service Rules (PSR), require only a three-month notice before retirement.
He cited precedents of senior officials who did not proceed on such leave.
The group lauded President Tinubu for upholding civil service norms and national interest, assuring that work at the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation continues seamlessly.
Pro-Impact Initiative urged detractors to stop exploiting civil service rules for personal gain and called on Nigerians to prioritize strengthening institutions over undermining them with unfounded attacks.
