The Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria (MTUN), in Gwagwalada Area Council, Federal Capital Territory, has elected 12 new executives to lead its operations in the area.
Newly elected Chairman, Mallam Abbas Isyaku, in a post-election address on Saturday, urged the executives to work collaboratively to promote the union’s interests.
He pledged an inclusive administration, emphasizing strong cooperation with security agencies, especially the Nigeria Police Force, to enhance the safety of Okada riders.
Isyaku encouraged riders to prioritize safety by using approved security jackets and adhering to designated passenger drop-off points to maintain order in business areas.
He also expressed appreciation to the Gwagwalada Area Council for its continued support, which has facilitated the smooth operation of commercial motorcyclists in the region.
Among the newly elected officials is Mr. Emmanuel Moses, who will serve as Secretary-General, as the union embarks on a fresh chapter of leadership.
