The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has called on residents to rededicate themselves to God’s service and obedience to His commandments during the Christmas season.

In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike highlighted the significance of following God’s laws, inspired by the obedience of Jesus Christ, whose birth is celebrated at Christmas.

“Jesus Christ, whose birth we celebrate, obeyed God’s commandments.

“Christians must follow His example by showing love to others and promoting the same values,” Wike said.

He expressed optimism about national progress under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and congratulated FCT residents on witnessing another Christmas.

“I congratulate all residents of the FCT for the grace to celebrate another Christmas.

“I pray that the Lord blesses us with many more in good health,” he added.

The Minister also sympathized with families affected by recent stampedes in Abuja, praying for God’s comfort for the bereaved.

Wike urged Christians to use the festive period to renew their commitment to God and humanity, emphasizing that obedience to God’s commandments remains central to the Christian faith.
