The Federal Government has declared December 25, 26, and January 1, 2025, as public holidays to mark Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day celebrations.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, announced the holidays in a statement signed by Magdalene Ajani, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary.

In the statement, Tunji-Ojo extended his felicitations to Nigerians and encouraged them to use the festive season to reflect on the values of love, peace, and unity.

He emphasized the need for harmony and strengthened bonds across families and communities during the yuletide.

“The Christmas season is a time for spiritual reflection and national renewal.

“As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us show kindness and extend goodwill to one another, regardless of our differences,” the statement read.

The Minister also called on citizens to remain committed to the peace, unity, and progress of the nation.

He reassured Nigerians of the government’s dedication to ensuring security and prosperity across the country.

Tunji-Ojo expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda would drive economic growth, positioning Nigeria as a global model of prosperity.
