The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), has refuted claims of a shutdown at the recently re-streamed Old Port Harcourt Refinery.
In a statement by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, NNPC confirmed the refinery is fully operational, as verified by former Group Managing Directors during a recent inspection.
Preparations for loading operations are ongoing.
NNPC dismissed the reports as unfounded and aimed at creating artificial scarcity.
“These claims are fabrications by those seeking to exploit Nigerians,” the statement read.
The company assured Nigerians of its commitment to uninterrupted refinery operations and the steady supply of petroleum products.
