Nextdora Nigeria Limited has filed a lawsuit at the Abuja High Court seeking to restrain the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister, Nyesom Wike, and others from selling its property located at Plot 4411, Cadastral Zone A09, Guzape District, Abuja.
In the suit marked CV/5517/24 and filed by its counsel, Reuben Atabo, the property development firm is demanding N500 million in damages from the first and second defendants, Eric Anyamene Nnamdi and Bilikisu Mallam, for alleged trespass.
Nextdora, listed as the claimant, also sued Wike and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), as third and fourth defendants.
It seeks seven reliefs, including a declaration that it is the rightful titleholder of the 2.46-hectare property covered by a Right of Occupancy with File No. MISC128232.
According to the company, it applied for the land allocation, paid the required fees, and obtained approval from the Department of Development Control on January 9, 2023.
Nextdora claims it had begun fencing and constructing an access road when, on December 10, Nnamdi and Mallam, accompanied by armed policemen, forcibly entered the property and disrupted construction.
The company also wrote to the Director of Lands at the Abuja Geographic Information System, requesting a caveat be placed on its file to prevent further encroachments.
The case is pending assignment to a judge.
