Vandal Electrocuted in Abuja

A suspected cable thief, Muktar Rabiu, was electrocuted while attempting to steal high-voltage cables in Abuja on November 28, 2024.
Rabiu had been arrested on November 21, 2024, for a similar offense and sentenced to community service and 42 strokes of the cane.
Despite this punishment, he resumed his criminal activities.
According to FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, Rabiu suffered severe electrocution while dismantling electrical equipment in Gwagwalada.
He is currently hospitalized and will face additional charges once he recovers.
The police have reiterated their commitment to protecting public infrastructure and warned against vandalism, emphasizing its dangers and disruptions to essential services.
Authorities are urging citizens to report suspicious activities to local stations or through emergency lines.
