The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with security agencies to enhance tax collection and enforcement efforts.
This was discussed at a recent security briefing in Abuja, attended by FIRS officials and representatives from various law enforcement bodies.
Gregory Wilfred Asuquo, FIRS’ Director of Security, Safety, and Fleet Management, stressed the importance of working with stakeholders to achieve tax collection goals, acknowledging that the process cannot be carried out alone.
Garba Muazu, Acting Director of the Tax Investigation and Enforcement Department, highlighted the legal backing for such partnerships, citing the FIRS Establishment Act, which mandates cooperation with law enforcement for effective information sharing and resource mobilization.
