Renowned Afro-Juju musician Sir Shina Peters has revealed that his ordination as a bishop in 2021 was a result of divine instruction given to the leadership of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God in Lagos. Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, Peters stated that the decision to ordain him was based on his consistent use of church hymns in his music, which has contributed to winning souls for Christ.
“The Almighty God directed the church to make me the first bishop of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God because of my unique dedication to hymns in my music. Despite trying to avoid the calling, God eventually got me arrested,” Peters said.
Reflecting on his journey, Peters expressed gratitude for his career growth and the blessings he has received over the years. “I am fulfilled and contented. My prayer is for enlightenment in God’s word and the grace to draw closer to Him. I am grateful for my achievements and for the gift of life when I remember those who started this journey with me but are no more,” he remarked.
On future plans, the musician hinted at releasing something extraordinary for his fans soon.
