The immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Enema Paul, has passed away.
The Speaker, Aliyu Yusuf, confirmed the death through his Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Yabagi, on Saturday.
Paul reportedly died in a private hospital in Abuja after battling an undisclosed illness.
In his statement, Yusuf described Paul as a temperate, humble, and committed public servant who championed unity and pro-people legislation.
He highlighted Paul’s dedication to family values and his exemplary devotion as a Christian leader.
Before his demise, Paul represented Okura State Constituency in the 8th Assembly but stepped down as Deputy Speaker due to health concerns.
He was succeeded by Comfort Nwuchiola of Ibaji Constituency.
The Speaker extended condolences to Paul’s family and colleagues, praying for strength to bear the loss.
