On December 13, 2024, President Bola Tinubu appointed Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi as the Acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, following the conclusion of Haliru Nababa’s tenure.
Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Board, confirmed that Ndidi will begin his role on December 15, 2024.
The statement noted Tinubu’s confidence in Ndidi’s capabilities, urging him to apply his extensive experience in the position.
Born on November 26, 1966, in Oguta, Imo State, Ndidi was previously the Deputy Controller-General overseeing the Training and Staff Development Directorate.
He is a fellow of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies and has been honored with the title Member of the Federal Republic.
