Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has ordered the deployment of officers to key locations and crime-prone areas across Nigeria to curb highway robberies and other criminal activities during the festive season.
Police Spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi announced that the initiative aims to enhance public safety through increased visibility on major highways and strategic locations.
Adejobi cited recent successes, including the arrest of four robbery suspects in Lagos and the recovery of three AK-47 rifles from a suspect in Anambra.
The IGP assured Nigerians of a secure Yuletide season, urging cooperation with law enforcement and vigilance in reporting suspicious activities.
