The Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (LASRERA), has called for enhanced collaboration among stakeholders to combat fraud and malpractices in the real estate sector.

This was announced by Ms. Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, ahead of the 5th Lagos Real Estate Market Place Conference and Exhibitions, to be hosted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Odunuga-Bakare emphasized LASRERA’s role in registering, monitoring, and regulating the sector to ensure transparency and enforce standards.

She stressed the need for stronger regulatory frameworks to protect both public and private interests.

Lagos, a fast-growing global city and economic hub, relies heavily on the real estate sector for job creation, investment, and infrastructure development.

Under Governor Sanwo-Olu’s leadership, the state has set a standard for progress and innovation in real estate.

Odunuga-Bakare highlighted LASRERA’s efforts to ensure that only qualified professionals engage in real estate transactions, promoting compliance and transparency to restore confidence in the sector.

The upcoming conference, themed “Reimagining the Lagos Landscape: Ensuring Sustainable Real Estate Practices,” aims to address urban growth challenges through sustainable practices, safety, environmental responsibility, and professionalism.

It will also provide a platform for industry professionals to explore business opportunities and share experiences to shape the future of Lagos real estate.
