President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to prioritize peace and unity, emphasizing that the nation’s strength lies in its diversity, despite political differences.
Speaking at the commissioning of the N9.1 billion Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex (BATTIC), at the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), headquarters in Abuja, the president urged citizens to remain united as one people.
“Despite the cracks that may emerge in our political landscape, we are one nation,” Tinubu said.
He likened Nigerians to members of a single family living in different rooms under the same roof, stressing that while political differences are inevitable, they should not compromise national unity.
The president underscored the importance of collective effort in achieving prosperity and peace, saying, “Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity and the resilience of its people. The path to progress is always challenging, but together, we can overcome.”
During the inauguration of the state-of-the-art facility, Tinubu described it as a milestone in Africa’s digital transformation and a testament to his administration’s commitment to fostering a conducive business environment.
“The Renewed Hope administration is dedicated to creating an enabling business environment that will ignite the economic boom Nigerians deserve,” he stated.
Tinubu also urged security agencies to intensify their efforts in safeguarding lives and property, stressing the importance of improving Nigeria’s global security ranking.
“It is imperative that our position in the Global Security Index improves.
My administration is committed to providing the necessary support to enhance security operations,” he assured.
The president highlighted the potential of the BATTIC to strengthen national security and enhance migration and border management systems.
He charged the Nigeria Immigration Service to leverage the facility for optimal performance in safeguarding Nigeria’s borders.
Commending the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his leadership and innovative reforms, Tinubu noted that these efforts have significantly boosted Nigeria’s standing within ECOWAS and on the global stage.
As the nation faces political turbulence, the president’s message remains clear: unity and peace are essential pillars for navigating challenges and achieving shared progress.
