Renowned Catholic priest, Rev. Fr Michael Nsikak Umoh has showered praise on Funke Akindele’s latest Christmas video, “Everybody Loves Christmas,” describing it as a heartwarming message of hope, unity, and joy for Nigerians.
The 5.22-minute video, featuring stars like Jide Kosoko, Patience Ozokwo, Falz, Waje, and Dbanj, blends traditional carols with Nigerian rhythms, showcasing the nation’s cultural richness.
Fr Umoh called it a “sermontainment” that emphasizes the essence of Christmas—giving, compassion, and togetherness.
Set in an old people’s home, the video highlights the importance of caring for the vulnerable and urges Nigerians to prioritize connection and presence over material gifts this season.
“Funke Akindele’s work is a beacon of hope, reminding us that despite our challenges, we can celebrate our shared humanity,” Fr Umoh said, applauding the team for inspiring unity through art.
