  • A collision involving a white Toyota Coaster bus and a stationary Lagos State BRT bus on the Third Mainland Bridge on Tuesday morning has left four passengers injured.

The accident occurred while the Coaster bus, with registration number KJA-380-XV, was attempting to overtake another vehicle and crashed into the parked BRT bus, registered AGL-938-YD.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the incident and reported that the four victims, including two males, two females, and the driver, sustained serious injuries, though no fatalities were reported.

LASEMA spokesperson Nosa Okunbor confirmed that the agency’s Response Team (LRT), successfully extricated the trapped passengers from the Coaster bus.

Paramedics from the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), provided emergency care before transferring the victims to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

The Coaster bus, which suffered extensive damage, was towed to Iyana Oworo and handed over to the police for investigation.

This incident has raised concerns about road safety, particularly the risks associated with stationary vehicles on busy roads like the Third Mainland Bridge.
