President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration’s economic reforms are beginning to bear fruit, with the promise of improved living conditions for all households in the near future.
Addressing a gathering in Akure, Ondo State, the President acknowledged the difficulties brought on by critical decisions such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of exchange rates.
He explained that these measures were unavoidable steps towards addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges and securing long-term stability.
“The need to secure the future of our children and rescue the nation from imminent collapse made it imperative to remove the fuel subsidy and unify the exchange rates,” Tinubu stated. “I understand the hardships these decisions have caused and deeply wish there were easier alternatives.”
Despite the challenges, the President expressed optimism about the nation’s economic trajectory, noting improvements at both macroeconomic and microeconomic levels.
“By God’s grace, every Nigerian household will soon enjoy a better quality of life and brighter prospects for the future,” Tinubu assured.
He also underscored his administration’s commitment to national security, vowing to intensify efforts to protect lives and property while creating an environment conducive to economic prosperity.
The President’s remarks come amid ongoing debates on the impact of his economic policies, which he insists are designed to ensure sustainable growth and development for all Nigerians.
