The remains of Pastor Patience Umo, the late First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, have arrived in her hometown, Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, for her funeral service.
Governor Umo Eno, accompanied by family members, led the procession as the state mourns her passing.
To honor her legacy, the Akwa Ibom State Government declared Friday a work-free day, enabling citizens to pay their respects.
Pastor Patience Umo, who passed away on September 26, 2024, after a brief illness, was renowned for her dedication to community service.
Her death has left a profound void in the state’s leadership, with widespread tributes reflecting the deep admiration she earned across Akwa Ibom and beyond.
