Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to collaborating with quantity surveyors on infrastructure projects in the state.
He made the announcement while hosting the national executive of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), led by President Kene Nzekwe, at Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
The visit coincided with the institute’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and a national conference themed “Strengthening the Quantity Surveying Practices and Processes for Growth and Sustainability in a Turbulent Economy.”
Governor Fubara emphasized his administration’s dedication to ensuring that surveyors in the state civil service acquire necessary certifications, boosting their competitiveness both nationally and globally.
He commended the institute for its valuable services to the state and encouraged continued professionalism to rebuild confidence in the industry.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to due diligence and engaging qualified professionals in infrastructure projects, noting the state’s success in minimizing project failures.
In response, Kene Nzekwe thanked the governor and the people of Rivers State for their warm hospitality.
He commended the ongoing Port Harcourt Ring Road project and other infrastructural developments under Governor Fubara’s leadership, highlighting the positive impact on road infrastructure, health, education, and revenue generation.
Nzekwe promised continued collaboration with the state government to ensure effective project delivery.
