The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has updated its policy, announcing that married female corps members no longer need to change their maiden names to their spouse’s name to qualify for redeployment.
The change, outlined in a circular signed by Abubakar Mohammed, Director of Corps Mobilisation, was issued on November 25, 2024.
The update applies to requests for concessional redeployment or relocation and eliminates the name change requirement while maintaining all other existing criteria.
The NYSC has instructed state and Federal Capital Territory coordinators to enforce the new policy.
