Police Alert Residents About Security Drill at Idu Train Station

The Nigeria Police Force has issued an alert to Abuja residents about a scheduled security drill at the Idu Train Station on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

The exercise, set to run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is being organized in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser.

It aims to enhance the preparedness of security agencies in managing emergencies and responding to potential threats.

Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi explained in a statement, “This simulation exercise is designed to improve the coordination and response of security forces in crisis situations. It is part of the Federal Government’s proactive efforts to strengthen the country’s security framework.”

Residents are advised not to panic if they hear loud noises, including controlled explosions, during the drill.

The police assured the public that the exercise will be conducted in a safe and controlled environment.

This training exercise is strictly for preparedness and poses no threat to public safety.

Authorities urge the public to remain calm and cooperate with security personnel during the drill.
