To curb environmental violations, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), has temporarily closed several businesses; including hotels, churches, and bars—across key areas of the state for non-compliance with environmental regulations.
The closures, which took place in Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, and Okota Isolo, are part of the state’s ongoing crackdown on noise pollution and other environmental concerns.
Among the affected establishments are notable businesses like Daily Bakery, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gak Universal Allied Limited, and Franjane Royal Suites.
Other closures include Golden Haven Resort & Suites, Festival Hotel Conference Centre & Spa, and Moulin Rouge Ventures at Olivia Mall, all of which were shut down after repeated warnings from the agency.
Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, General Manager of LASEPA, reaffirmed the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on environmental violations that threaten public health.
He stressed that businesses and individuals must uphold environmental standards, adding that the responsibility for maintaining a cleaner and healthier Lagos is shared by all.
LASEPA continues to encourage residents to report environmental infractions, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring a sustainable and safe environment for Lagosians.
