Police Arrest Four in Dei-Dei Raid

Police detectives from the Dei-Dei ‘B’ Division, acting on orders from the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Olatunji Disu, executed a successful raid on a criminal hideout located at the Timber Market in Dei-Dei, Abuja. This operation was part of an initiative to enhance security in the FCT during the festive season.

The raid resulted in the apprehension of four individuals identified as notorious robbers. The suspects are Nura Halilu, Salim Mohammed, Saifullahi Usman, and Usman Mohammed. Investigations indicated that this hideout was associated with a gang leader who remains at large and was involved in various illegal activities such as drug trafficking and selling stolen mobile phones.

During the operation, law enforcement recovered several items including a locally made firearm, three live cartridges, three spent cartridges, four knives, and a significant amount of dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp. One of the suspects, Ismail Tasiu also known as “Old School” admitted to being active in criminal activities in the area for over ten years. Nura Halilu confessed to participating in an armed robbery and drug syndicate led by a fugitive named Murtala.

The suspects are currently in police custody while investigations continue. The Commissioner of Police has called on residents of the FCT to stay alert and report any suspicious behavior to law enforcement authorities without delay.
