Skales Opens Up on Mum’s death, Family Legacy

Nigerian singer Skales has once again laid bare the depth of his grief over his mother’s passing in October 2022.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the “Shake Body” hitmaker wrote, “Men, I wish I could bring back my mother,” sparking an emotional wave of support from fans.

In a heartfelt interview with VJ Adams, Skales, 33, revealed how the loss of his mother reshaped his priorities, leaving him with deep regrets about not starting a family earlier.

“I’m like the only person in my bloodline that is alive right now. So, the whole bloodline relies on me to produce [children],” he confessed, highlighting the pressure he feels to preserve his family legacy.

The singer also touched on the strain in his marriage, describing how his grief and loneliness have complicated his personal life.

Despite these challenges, Skales continues to turn to music as an outlet for his emotions and a bridge to his fans.
