Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Wale Ajetunmobi, over a controversial social media post.

Ajetunmobi, using the handle #Riddwane on X (formerly Twitter), alleged that individuals linked to the burning of Television Continental (TVC) during the 2020 #EndSARS protests were “hunted down and executed,” including a young boy from Ketu found with an AK-47.

His tweet sparked outrage and drew widespread criticism.

In response, Gboyega Akosile, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, announced the suspension, reaffirming the administration’s stance against extrajudicial actions.

“That is not who we are. That is not our way,” Akosile stated, emphasizing the government’s commitment to justice and accountability.

The incident has reignited public discussions about the fallout of the #EndSARS protests and the role of government officials in shaping narratives.
