In a bold move to enhance school safety, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, is set to unveil the ‘School Protection Squad’ in Ogun State.

The initiative, aimed at bolstering security in schools, will be officially launched during a two-day event, “Capacity Building for Security Agencies and Other Stakeholders,” on November 26 and 27, 2024.

The event, according to Ogun State Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, will outline key security measures, including rapid response teams, regular patrols, and safety workshops for students and school staff.

A coalition of security agencies, government officials, traditional rulers, and private sector representatives will join forces to ensure the success of the program.

The public is invited to tune in to live coverage of the event on the police’s official social media platforms starting at 10:00 AM each day.

This collaborative effort marks a critical step in safeguarding educational institutions across Ogun State.
