The Edo State government has pledged swift action to correct construction errors at the recently remodeled Stella Obasanjo Hospital in Benin City, delaying its full operations.

During an inspection on Monday, the Health Commissioner, Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, identified several defects and engaged consultants and the contractor in discussions to resolve the issues.

“We discovered some construction errors and agreed on prompt corrective measures,” Oshiomhole stated.

Accompanied by key medical and administrative officials, including the Permanent Secretary of the Hospital Management Agency, Dr. Efosa Aisien, the commissioner emphasized teamwork in identifying and addressing the flaws.

“Teamwork has been vital in spotting and planning to resolve these errors,” he added.

The hospital, inaugurated under former governor Godwin Obaseki, will undergo immediate adjustments to ensure it meets operational standards before serving the public.

Officials assured residents of a swift resolution to deliver a fully functional healthcare facility.
