Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets have dealt a severe blow to terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin, neutralizing scores and obliterating their critical food storage depot in a precision airstrike.
The operation, conducted on November 23 by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), targeted Jubillaram in the Tumbuns area, a known enclave for terrorist commanders and fighters.
The strike followed extensive Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that pinpointed the location under dense vegetation.
In a statement on Monday, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, confirmed the mission’s success.
“The destruction of the terrorists’ food storage facilities has disrupted their logistics, while the elimination of a significant number of fighters has weakened their ability to plan and execute future attacks,” he said.
The raid was launched in response to intelligence linking the terrorists to recent attacks, including the November 16 assault on troops in Kareto.
Fighter jets decimated the enclave, targeting structures and using mop-up operations to eliminate fleeing elements.
“This operation underscores the NAF’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s peace and prosperity,” Akinboyewa added, reaffirming their dedication to sustaining robust air campaigns until all enemies of the nation are subdued.
The mission reflects OPHK’s ongoing determination to dismantle insurgent strongholds and restore stability to the region.
