Mangu LG Chairman Reaffirms Commitment to Peace Through Community Partnerships

The Executive Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Bala Mwolpun, has pledged his administration’s continued commitment to fostering lasting peace across communities in the region.

Speaking during a meeting on Thursday with facilitators from the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) network and the Plateau Peace Building Agency, Hon. Mwolpun commended their peacebuilding efforts.

He described their initiatives as “transformative and essential” to achieving harmony in Mangu and Plateau State at large.

“Peace is the bedrock of progress, and we remain steadfast in working collaboratively with organizations like yours to sustain it,” Mwolpun stated.

He assured stakeholders of his administration’s willingness to embrace dialogue and leverage expert support to deepen community engagement and resolve conflicts.

Mrs. Lola Raji, the USIP network’s team leader, highlighted the organization’s impactful one-year engagement in Mangu.

She noted that their work included a pivotal interactive session on civil-military relations, which brought together key stakeholders to foster mutual understanding and cooperation.

The collaboration between the Mangu Local Government, USIP, and the Plateau Peace Building Agency reflects a shared vision for sustainable peace, with plans to address underlying issues and rebuild trust among the people.
