Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed heartfelt condolences over the passing of Alhaji Ahmadu Kurfi, the former Executive Secretary of the Federal Electoral Commission (FEDECO) and District Head of Kurfi, Katsina State.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari praised Kurfi for his exceptional contributions to the nation, particularly in the area of electoral reform and organization.
As the head of FEDECO, Kurfi played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s electoral landscape, a contribution Buhari described as invaluable in promoting democracy and national unity.
Buhari remembered Kurfi as a wise and capable leader, whose efforts were instrumental in steering the country towards greater development and stability.
The former president extended his deepest sympathies to Kurfi’s family, the Emir of Katsina, and the people of Katsina State, commending the late Kurfi’s legacy of service to the nation.
“Alhaji Kurfi’s leadership and commitment to Nigeria’s democratic processes will not be forgotten.
“He was a unifying figure whose work continues to resonate in our nation’s electoral history,” Buhari said.
Kurfi’s death marks a significant loss to Nigeria, with many mourning the passing of a man who dedicated his life to the country’s progress.
