PalmPay Launches Anti-Fraud Awareness Campaign

PalmPay, a leading financial institution in Nigeria, has unveiled a series of initiatives to mark this year’s International Anti-Fraud Awareness Week.

The campaign aims to educate the public on fraud prevention and digital security, fostering a safer digital financial ecosystem.

The highlight of the campaign is a community walk themed “United Against Fraud: Building a Safer Future.”

Scheduled for November 22, 2024, in Lagos, the walk will bring together stakeholders from various sectors and members of the public to emphasize collective action against fraud.

According to a statement from PalmPay, the walk will commence at the company’s offices and proceed to Ikeja’s Computer Village.

Along the route, participants will engage with the public, sharing practical tips on fraud prevention. The event is open to everyone interested in enhancing their digital safety knowledge.

Fraud continues to pose a significant challenge within Nigeria’s growing digital financial landscape.

Recent reports indicate a worrying rise in fraud-related cases, highlighting the urgency for businesses and consumers to adopt proactive security measures.

As part of its Anti-Fraud Awareness Week activities, PalmPay will focus on promoting financial literacy, including creating strong passwords, spotting phishing attempts, and reporting suspicious activities.

Adenekan Oluwatosin, PalmPay’s Anti-Fraud Officer, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to empowering users with knowledge and tools to combat fraud.

“As digital finance becomes integral to daily life, staying vigilant against potential risks is crucial. Our Anti-Fraud Awareness Week reflects our dedication to proactive security and financial education,” he said.

PalmPay’s Managing Director, Chika Nwosu, also emphasized the initiative’s importance.
