Chidimma Adetshina, Miss Nigeria 2024 and runner-up at Miss Universe, has announced her decision to step away from the pageantry world.
In an emotional interview with Silverbird TV, Chidimma revealed that her time in the industry had been “traumatic” and shared her desire to shift focus towards personal growth and education.
Reflecting on her journey, she said: “Finishing in the top 2 at Miss Universe is still a shock to me. Honestly, I’m done. Pageantry was a real traumatic experience for me. I want to focus on myself, establish who I am, and further my education.”
Despite her success, including being named Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, Chidimma admitted there were moments during the Miss Universe competition when she nearly gave up, but ultimately, she pushed through.
Her pageantry career has been marked by a mix of challenges and triumphs.
After withdrawing from the Miss South Africa competition due to controversy over her nationality, she went on to claim the Miss Nigeria title and represented the country at Miss Universe.
Now, as she returns to Nigeria from South Africa, Chidimma is ready to leave the spotlight behind.
“I’m really done with pageantry. It’s time for me to focus on what truly matters,” she stated.
Her decision marks the end of a remarkable chapter, as she looks ahead to new endeavors.
