Galatasaray manager, Okan Buruk, has stirred debate by declaring Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as better than Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, citing their current form.
Haaland, widely regarded as one of the world’s best forwards, has already scored 15 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions this season for Manchester City.
Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has also been in impressive form, netting eight goals in just nine matches across all competitions for the Turkish Super Lig champions.
In a recent statement, Buruk highlighted Osimhen’s impact and consistency.
“There are not many elite strikers in Europe. Haaland may come to mind first, but since Manchester City have struggled in recent weeks, I would say Osimhen is the best right now,” Buruk remarked.
The comment comes amid ongoing discussions about the performances of top strikers in European football, with both players continuing to deliver standout performances for their respective clubs.
