The Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC), has launched the distribution of 1,880 prepaid meters to Band A customers under the Meter Asset Funds (MAF), Scheme.

This initiative targets Band A customers who stopped receiving electricity subsidies in April and aims to provide accurate billing and improve customer satisfaction.

According to a statement from YEDC’s Communications Officer, Blessing Tunoh, the deployment of meters is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance service quality.

The meters include 1,500 single-phase and 380 three-phase meters, with installations scheduled to take place from November 18 to November 30, 2024, by approved vendors.

The project, which is part of the Presidential Metering Initiative, has received approval from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

Under this initiative, the meters will be provided at no cost to customers. YEDC encourages Band A customers to cooperate with the installers who will be visiting homes and businesses for the metering process.

This move is part of YEDC’s continued efforts to ensure reliable and transparent electricity services to all its customers, enhancing overall distribution quality.
