Court Nullifies Ebonyi PDP Congresses

A Federal High Court in Abakaliki has nullified all congresses conducted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Ebonyi State, impacting ward, local government, and state levels.

The decision, made on Monday, followed a suit filed by Hon. Nnenna Lynda Udeh and 12 others against the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), suit number FHC/AI/CS/183/2024.

The court ruled the congresses unconstitutional and prohibited INEC, named as the second defendant, from recognizing any officers elected through these nullified congresses for any official purposes.

This judgment disrupts the current PDP structure in Ebonyi, pending further legal actions or re-conducted congresses.
