Nollywood actor-turned-politician, Desmond Elliot, has broken his silence over recent allegations linking him to homosexuality.
Elliot, who currently serves as a lawmaker in Lagos State, was named in a viral list of prominent Nigerian celebrities accused of being involved in same-sex relationships, sparking widespread online debate.
In an interview with press men, Elliot dismissed the allegations as baseless, stating they held no relevance to his life or career.
He emphasized that he was focused on more significant issues and that responding to such rumors would not impact his work or personal life.
“Why would I respond to allegations made against me when it did not reduce or increase my life?
“It is an opinion that’s being conceived. I don’t think it is necessary to come out and say it’s true or not true; as long as I’m impacting people positively, I’m good. So, let me state very clearly that I am straight,” he said.
Elliot’s response has ignited mixed reactions online, with some supporting his call for privacy, while others continue to question the veracity of the claims.
However, the actor-politician has reiterated his commitment to his duties in both politics and entertainment, unfazed by speculation.
