In a congratulatory message released on Wednesday, Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu extended his warm regards to Donald Trump on his re-election as the 47th President of the United States, signaling hopes for renewed cooperation between the two nations.

The message, signed by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, emphasized Tinubu’s eagerness to work closely with the incoming administration on pressing global issues.

“Together, we can foster economic cooperation, promote peace, and address global challenges that affect our citizens,” Tinubu stated, highlighting the potential for deeper Nigeria-US collaboration.

Tinubu commended Trump’s return to office, viewing it as a reflection of Americans’ trust in his leadership. He expressed optimism that Trump’s prior experience as the 45th President would bolster efforts to build a “reciprocal economic and development partnership” between the United States and Africa.

Tinubu also acknowledged the significant role the United States plays in shaping global affairs, expressing confidence in Trump’s capacity to advance peace and prosperity worldwide.
