The FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has flagged off the 15.4-kilometer Pai-Gomani road project in Kwali Area Council on Tuesday.
This initiative is a strong push to uplift rural communities and strengthen food security that aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’, prioritizing infrastructure to bridge urban-rural divides.
During the launch, Wike affirmed his commitment to making the dividends of democracy accessible to all, vowing that infrastructure, not land sales, would define his tenure.
“This road is for everyone—regardless of political affiliation—because every resident deserves improved access and opportunity,” Wike emphasized.
The road project, projected to take 12 months, is expected to boost local agriculture, ease security responses, and connect communities.
Wike pledged sufficient funding and timely contractor payments, while urging community support across political lines.
Speaking, Senator David Jimkuta and Hon. Abdulrahman Ajiya, representing the National Assembly, lauded the project’s potential to reinvigorate local confidence in government efforts.
On their part, the Kwali Area Council Chair, Hon. Danladi Chiya, and other leaders expressed collective commitment to rural development under the FCT Minister’s leadership.
