Member, House of Representatives, Hon. Alex Ikwechegh has publicly apologized following a viral video showing him engaging in an inappropriate behavior towards an Uber driver delivering a package to his residence.
In a statement, Ikwechegh expressed regret, describing his actions as “unacceptable” and “unbecoming” of a public official.

He emphasized his commitment to justice, welcoming his party’s swift condemnation and supporting law enforcement efforts to uphold accountability.
The lawmaker also announced steps toward self-improvement, including professional counseling and community service initiatives aimed at fostering respect and empathy.
“I urge all Nigerians to join me in promoting a culture of respect, tolerance, and understanding,” Ikwechegh stated, pledging to use this incident as a catalyst for personal growth and societal change.
This commitment follows his acknowledgment of the trust constituents place in him, which he aims to rebuild through his actions.
