Police in Lagos State have arrested three people in connection with the possession of human body parts, specifically suspected tongues.
On October 15, 2024, the Rapid Response Squad intercepted the suspects, Isah Amohullahi 30 and Abubakar Isah 32, who were arrested during a regular stop-and-search operation on the Otedola Bridge.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the suspects’ arrest on Tuesday, saying they were found carrying the body parts in a cab.
He stated that more investigations led to the arrest of another person, Gbolahan Temidayo, at Oyingbo Market, Lagos, from whom the tongues were allegedly purchased.
Hundeyin confirmed the arrests in a statement and noted that the situation was being investigated.
“The investigation is ongoing at the command headquarters, and if found culpable, the suspects will be charged in court,” he said.
