Gerrout! – Wike Orders Beggars Out of Abuja

The Administrators of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),  has issued a stern warning to beggars in vacate the streets or face the wrath of government.

Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, issued the warning, noting that any of the beggars found on the streets after this week, would face sanctions.

According to him, a task force would be saddled with the responsibility to arrest any defaulting beggar..

Wike, while sounding the warning at the flag-off ceremony of the construction  of the access road to th newly built Judges’ Quarters, said the FCT would no longer tolerate the littering of its streets by beggars.

 The number of beggars who litter the road is alarming and it  poses a threat to security in the metropolis,” he lamented.

The minister then said any beggar found on street after October 27, 2024, would be severely sanctioned.
