Troops of the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have arrested four suspected criminals in Asaba, Delta State, during a routine patrol at Nwawolo Market, located behind the Asaba Specialist Hospital. The suspects were operating in a tricycle, also known as ‘Keke NAPEP’, when they were apprehended.
The recovered items include an AK47 rifle, ammunition, cartridges, a magazine, a crow bar, a battle axe, mobile phones and a wallet containing $19 and N30,650. Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Major Emmanuel Onoja, confirmed the arrests and recovery of these items.
The suspects have been taken into custody for further interrogation. This operation demonstrates the Nigerian Army’s commitment to maintaining law and order in Delta State. Previously, the 63 Brigade successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt along the Ughelli-Patani Road in June 2024.
