Gunmen have abducted a woman identified as Hauwa and her daughter, Aisha, in Dafara, a community in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

A resident of Dangara, Shugaba Samuel, disclosed that the incident occurred around 1:12 a.m. on Wednesday when armed men wielding AK-47 rifles stormed the Rugan Alhaji Gwandara settlement.

According to Samuel, the attackers targeted the victims because they are related to a wealthy Fulani man known for rearing large herds of cattle in the area. The abductors whisked the mother and daughter away at gunpoint, firing shots into the air to deter vigilantes from pursuing them.

Samuel also revealed that, as of the time of reporting, no contact had been made with the abductors.

He further recalled a previous attack in the area months earlier, during which gunmen killed one resident and abducted two others.

Efforts to reach Josephine Adeh, the spokeswoman of the FCT police command, for comments on the incident were unsuccessful.
