The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, visited Ushafa and several other communities in the Bwari Area Council on Friday to assess the security situation in the area.

According to a statement by the FCT Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the visit underscores the Command’s commitment to ensuring peace and security across all parts of the FCT. CP Disu engaged in extensive discussions with traditional rulers, youth groups, and community members during his tour, listening to their concerns and gathering insights into local security issues.

The Commissioner stressed the need for strong collaboration between the police and residents, encouraging the community to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly. “The importance of working together cannot be overstated,” CP Disu noted, highlighting the role of community involvement in maintaining security.

He further assured residents that the Command has strengthened its deployments across key areas in the Bwari axis, focusing on intelligence-driven operations and the activation of rapid response units to address potential threats. CP Disu reiterated that the FCT Command is determined to tackle crime and ensure that Bwari, like all communities within the FCT, remains safe for both residents and businesses.

The tour reflects the police leadership’s proactive approach to security in the FCT, emphasizing direct engagement with local communities as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard the capital.
