President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Alfred Abah as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Civil Service Matters. The announcement was made by Eno Olotu, Director of Press at the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, in a statement obtained on Wednesday.

Abah, a retired director of the Federal Civil Service, is the first to hold this newly created position, a development hailed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Didi Walson-Jack, as a “historic milestone.”

In the statement, Walson-Jack expressed her gratitude to Tinubu for the appointment, noting that the move aligns with the administration’s commitment to civil service reforms. “This strategic decision reflects the administration’s commitment to advancing ongoing reform efforts aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Civil Service,” she said.

Walson-Jack further praised Abah’s credentials, stating, “Mr. Alfred Abah, an accomplished administrator and a retired Director of the Federal Civil Service, brings with him a wealth of experience, deep expertise, and a solid reputation for integrity and professionalism.”

With over 30 years of service in various key roles within the public sector, Abah is expected to lead the charge in driving reforms and improving organizational excellence. Walson-Jack emphasized that, under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Nigerian Civil Service has made transformative strides. She added, “These reforms have boosted the confidence of the Nigerian people in the government’s dedication to good governance and public service excellence.”
