The Rivers State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Victor Oko-Jumbo, has screened and confirmed four commissioner nominees to join the Rivers State Executive Council.
The confirmation followed a request from Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who had asked the Assembly to screen and ratify the nominees. The confirmed nominees are Israel Lebura Ngbuelu, Evans Bapakaye Bipi, Otamiri Ngubo, and Benebo Anabraba.
This development coincides with reports of sudden outbreaks of violence at multiple local government council secretariats on Monday morning.
