Social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, will appear before the House of Representatives on Monday over bribery allegations involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
VeryDarkMan had released an audio recording of popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, alleging that he bribed EFCC officials with ₦15 million to have a money laundering case against him dropped. In the same recording, Bobrisky also claimed that he never served his six-month jail term in Kirikiri prison, Lagos, due to arrangements made by his godfather for him to stay in a lodge instead.
In response to these claims, the House of Representatives has summoned VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky, and the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, to appear as part of its investigation into the matter.
VeryDarkMan’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed that his client would honor the invitation, demonstrating his willingness to assist with the probe. Speaking with a correspondent on Sunday, Adeyanju said, “We will be at the National Assembly tomorrow with our client @thatverydarkman to assist in investigations into allegations by Bobrisky that he/she paid ₦15m to have money laundering charges dropped by EFCC and also bribed prison officials to stay in an apartment.”
